Does Red Wine Reduce Alzheimer’s Risk?

by Mary Emma Allen on September 20th, 2006

It seems various foods and beverages are being analyzed nowadays to see whether they help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s.  Among the latest I’ve come across is Cabernet Sauvignon red wine.

According to a study, under the direction of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, it appears that consuming moderate amounts of this red wine may contribute to reduction of the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease.  Publication of the findings will appear in the November 2006 issue of The FASEB Journal

This is just one of the many studies into lifestyle and diet to determine which might affect the incidence of Alzheimer’s.
