Activities to Keep Youngsters Busy in An Alzheimer’s Caregiver’s Home

by Mary Emma Allen on November 22nd, 2007

During this Thanksgiving holiday season, life can get hectic if you have children home while caring for an Alzhemer’s family member at the same time.  (In the United States, most schools are closed, giving the youngsters a 4 1/2 -day holiday weekend.)

Laura Spencer at Work from Home Momma has just the solution!  Check out her post, Twenty-five Thanksgiving Activities and Puzzles for Kids.  Although Laura writes from the viewpoint of a mom with a home business, her tips  are helpful for caregivers with children and a patient, as well.

Ah!  Now to get some work and caregiving accomplished while the youngsters are occupied with Laura’s suggestions or checking out activities in books you may find.

Thanks for stopping by, Laura. You have some great ideas my readers can use throughout the holidays to keep youngsters busy while they get their own work and caregiving tasks done. And they and the Alzheimer’s patient might join in some of them for family fun.

I can only imagine how stressful it must get sometimes taking care of both an Alzheimer’s family member and a child at the same time.
